8 Week Advanced Beginner Handbuilding: 3 Projects for Summer - Surface Development Intensive
With Sara Hensel
The special projects series is tackling 3 new forms assigned to invite contemplation of surface treatment, sensitive touch, and summer abundance. We will start by constructing a pair of goblets, then coil a large salad bowl, then conclude with a perforated berry bowl constructed from soft slab using paper templates. Demos will emphasize both form and surface, eventually driving toward the notion that the two are not separate stages, but in fact thrive and vibrate on a celestial frequency when considered inextricable from each other.
